Vera Vitis is committed to serving those in need through faith-driven action. By providing food, shelter, and support, we aim to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to individuals and families facing hardship.
Melissa Azzi founded Vera Vitis under the patronage of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the spiritual direction of her spiritual father, Fr. Elias Said.
The journey began when Fr. Elias brought to her attention a woman suffering from cancer who urgently needed treatment but could not afford it. Deeply moved by his concern and the woman's situation, Melissa turned to those around her, and through their generosity, raised the funds needed to support her care.
What began as a single act of compassion soon revealed a deeper calling. Through prayer and discernment, Melissa felt drawn to continue helping others in need—not as her own mission, but as God’s.
From this conviction, Vera Vitis was born: a charity dedicated to serving the poor, the sick, and the suffering with faith, humility, and love.
With Our Lady as her guide and God as her strength, Melissa continues to lead Vera Vitis as a living response to the Gospel.
Vera Vitis is a vessel through which God’s love flows into the world. We exist to bring relief, support, and hope to those experiencing hardship—providing food, clothing, education, and essentials as acts of faith and service.
We envision a world where no one suffers alone, where every act of love reflects God's presence, and where generosity transforms lives. Through faith and service, we strive to build communities where hope is restored and dignity upheld.
Vera Vitis, meaning "The True Vine," represents our commitment to faith in action. Inspired by John 15:5, we believe that true change happens when we work together to serve others. What began as a small effort to help families has grown into a mission dedicated to uplifting lives through compassion and generosity.
Love your neighbor as yourself." We walk alongside the suffering, offering not just aid but dignity, kindness, and unwavering support.
"Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me." We are called to be Christ’s hands and feet, responding with love to those in need.
Stewarding resources with honesty, knowing we are accountable to God and those we serve. We act with transparency and humility.
"For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them." Together, as one body in Christ, we create lasting change and uplift those who need us most.
Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patron and inspiration behind Vera Vitis.
When she appeared in 1531, she did not reveal herself to the wealthy or the powerful but instead chose Juan Diego, a humble indigenous man, to carry out her message.
Through this, she showed that God works through the lowly and the poor, calling us to serve with humility, love, and unwavering faith.
Just as she uplifted the poor and brought hope to the suffering, we follow her example—extending Christ’s love to those in need.
Every act of service at Vera Vitis is done under her patronage, recognizing that, like Juan Diego, we are called to be instruments of God’s mercy and care.
Every act of love is a reflection of Christ’s call to serve. Whether through time, resources, or prayer, your involvement strengthens our mission.
